Next July in Vienna, ECCMID will again hold the educational session “Clinical Grand Rounds”, where training fellows will present challenging cases from their own institutions and discuss them with a panel of experts. We strongly encourage you to submit a clinical case abstract to this great interactive session. In case your case is selected you will receive free registration, travel and hosting according to speaker regulation.
Cases abstracts are to be submitted by 1st March 2021 to the ECCMID Scientific Secretariat using this online form: https://escmid.wufoo.com/forms/eccmid-clinical-grand-rounds-2021/.
Ideally, the presented case should depict a realistic and representative scenario on a hospital ward round. It should be clinically challenging with respect to diagnostic and/or therapeutic decisions. The case should incorporate the appropriate elements of microbiology/ virology/ mycology/ parasitology, good pathology and other investigations such as imaging studies.
Based on review of the abstracts, we will select the six best cases for presentation. ECCMID will cover the registration fee and the travel costs according to the attached ECCMID rules and regulations for speakers and chairs. For the presenting fellows, the speaker rules will apply.
ECCMID 2021 is planned as a hybrid event with sessions taking place on-site in Vienna and broadcasted on a dedicated online platform for remote attendees. In the event that the congress cannot take place on-site due to the COVID-19 situation, the whole programme will be streamed live online, including the Clinical Grand Rounds session
